Fossen Camping Fagernes - Reviews
jheidorn 2026/09/03
Mostly level pitches, partly gravelled along the riverbank.
Many permanent campers with large awnings.
Sanitary facilities new and well maintained.
Very good WiFi.
Little occupied in the low season.
Friendly welcome, even with a little German.
The road passing directly by is very busy during the day, but the traffic dies down considerably in the evening.

If you are traveling in the region and looking for a quiet place for a relaxed break or overnight stay, Fossen Camping is exactly the right place.
Location & atmosphere: The campsite is smaller, very manageable and incredibly idyllic, located directly by a river with a picturesque little waterfall. Perfect for simply letting your soul unwind.
Activities & highlights: The fishing opportunities on site are great. If you have no luck fishing or simply want to enjoy it directly, you can also buy fresh trout on site.
Service: The staff is extraordinarily nice, helpful and makes sure that you immediately feel welcome.
Facilities: The sanitary facilities are always very clean. Important to know: The shower credit has to be booked separately, but this works completely uncomplicatedly. For families with children there is also a small playground.
Conclusion: An all-round cozy place in the best natural setting. A clear recommendation for anyone who is nearby and looking for a relaxing break!

Place is quiet and nicely located (small waterfall with swimming opportunities).
Sanitary facilities, kitchen, sink, etc. are not very new, modern and comfortable. But clean and functional. Who does not need it top modern and appreciate a quaint, individual charm is right here.
However, as noted in another review: The water actually has a strange (sulfurous?) Smell.

Highlight for us the decision: take a shower or swim in the adjoining river (Begna). With the current heat the decision was clear.
We like to come back here; unfortunately, the campsite in Fagernes cannot offer the originality we experienced here.

The surroundings are very nice, if you park on the left side (stream), on the right side you can hear the street.
The price was unfortunately not appropriate to the circumstances.
