Accommodation Type: Tentauto-translated: A lovely little campsite full of charm – ‘Soul’, as the chatty owner puts it. Essentially, it’s a house on the outskirts with a large garden where you can camp (it doesn’t feel at all as though you’re an intruder in someone else’s garden; instead, you feel very welcome). Its proximity to the E39 is very convenient, but the site is far enough away that you don’t hear any noise from the road.

Booking and payment are handled (including on-site) via Campio (see link at the top of the entry), though you don’t need an account to do so. I’d still recommend giving them a call beforehand, though, as it isn’t a ‘traditional’ campsite with a permanently staffed reception. The owner has another job during the day.

Something that might not be to everyone’s taste: geese roam freely in the garden. They’re actually absolutely lovely, though. Nevertheless, this means that only one of the available tent pitches is completely free of goose poo. These pitches do have grass and tent pegs generally go in well, but they aren’t all perfectly level; we only just managed to pitch our very large tent (5 square metres) reasonably straight on one of them. It would probably have been a better fit on the other one (the one with goose droppings).

There is ‘only’ one toilet and one shower, which will hopefully be sufficient given the small size of the site. But of course, there may be queues. The facilities are, however, very, very nice – 5-star standard. The same goes for the entrance area with a kettle and so on. What’s missing: a ‘proper’ kitchen/laundry room. There’s only an outdoor sink (hot water only available by mixing it yourself using a kettle).

There are also loads of lovely places to sit in the garden. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make use of them due to the weather.

Overall, it can be summed up as follows: a great deal of potential and already plenty of good ideas and charming corners. She’s only in her second season of running the site. There are plans for lots of things: a better / covered kitchen, a ‘garden shed’ to serve as a common room (the foundations are already in place, but the weather is currently holding up further construction), levelling and filling in the tent pitches, etc. And a goat enclosure is also on the cards. We’ll have to wait and see which of these are implemented and when. There are plenty of plans versus limited resources (time and, presumably, money too).

A great deal of love has gone into it and it’s beautifully laid out. I can imagine that by next year it will have been significantly improved compared to this season. But even as it is, it’s well worth a stay, especially given that there are so many poor options in the Bergen area.
Would I come back: Yes

auto-translated: A really cute, tiny little campsite. Only a few cars really fit here, and accordingly it is very quiet and relaxing. Not far away (a few minutes' walk) is the beautiful fjord and incredibly beautiful views. The bathroom is luxurious. The last few meters of the driveway are somewhat problematic, a bit rough for motorhomes. Overall really nice and family-like.

Accommodation Type: Campervanauto-translated: It was a very idyllic stay, approach (last 50 metres) a bit difficult with a motorhome. But it was worth it. Bathrooms like wellness. Very nice hostess.
