As of 18 Jun 24, creeks are passable. Beautiful location with plenty of room to spread out. Very friendly staff. Very well maintained hiking trails.Would I come back: Yes

auto-translated: First and foremost important for Icelandic travellers: The CAMPINGCARD is NOT VALID here.Accordingly, we did not spend the night here. But the sanitary facilities are great, there are also various cosy (covered) cooking places and tables. Very stylishly designed.
The perfect starting point for the great hike to the Fimmvörđuáls hut or even to Skógar (about 15h included). The camping site is very remote and only accessible with 4x4-JEEPS (no 4x4-Non-Jeeps allowed!!!). One drives through approx. 15 rivers per way, especially the one closest to the campground is often deep (approx. 1m)! There are (approx. 80€ expensive) buses there, irregular departure times.
